After several years as observer of the activities being performed within the GIF on the Lead Fast Reactor, the US has signed the LFR Memorandum of Understanding, entering as a full member in the LFR provisional System Steering Committee.

Within the GIF framework, the LFR is therefore now fully supported by

• the European Union,
• Japan,
• the Russian Federation,
• the Republic of Korea and
• the United States of America,

while the People’s Republic of China remains as observer.
